  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (optional) For extra creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional) Adds texture and nutrition
  • Sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, etc.) Adjust sweetness as desired

  1. In a medium-sized bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats and milk (or your chosen non-dairy alternative).
  2. Stir in the yogurt for creaminess, if desired.
  3. Add chia seeds for extra texture and nutrition, then mix well.
  4. Sweeten your mixture to taste with honey or maple syrup.
  5. Cover the bowl or jar and place it in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 4 hours.
  6. In the morning, give the oats a good stir. The oats should be creamy and have absorbed most of the liquid.
  7. Top with your choice of fruits, nuts, or seeds before enjoying.

Notes

Overnight oats can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Avoid adding delicate toppings until you are ready to eat. For reheating, pop them in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds, stirring occasionally.
