- In a medium-sized bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats and milk (or your chosen non-dairy alternative).
- Stir in the yogurt for creaminess, if desired.
- Add chia seeds for extra texture and nutrition, then mix well.
- Sweeten your mixture to taste with honey or maple syrup.
- Cover the bowl or jar and place it in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 4 hours.
- In the morning, give the oats a good stir. The oats should be creamy and have absorbed most of the liquid.
- Top with your choice of fruits, nuts, or seeds before enjoying.
Notes
Overnight oats can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Avoid adding delicate toppings until you are ready to eat. For reheating, pop them in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds, stirring occasionally.
