  • Zest of 2 lemons lemon zest Adds extra lemon flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavor profile.
  • A pinch of salt salt Balances the sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients on a clean countertop.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and milk until well combined and smooth.
  3. Gradually stir in the granulated sugar and a pinch of salt, whisking until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest to the mixture and mix until well blended.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Churning and Freezing
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, typically for about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Serving
  1. Scoop out portions and enjoy on its own or topped with fresh fruit or other garnishes.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. Allow it to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping for best texture.
