Kitchen Equipment Needed

  • Medium saucepan
  • Whisk or spoon
  • 8×8-inch baking dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpick or skewer

Ingredients

For the Fudge Base:
2 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Colors and Flavors:
1/2 tsp red gel food coloring
1/4 tsp black gel food coloring
1/2 tsp apple extract or green apple flavoring

Directions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt the Base Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and fully melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Divide the Mixture: Pour half of the fudge mixture into a separate bowl. Add the red gel food coloring and apple extract to one half, stirring until evenly colored and flavored. Add the black gel food coloring to the other half and mix until fully combined.
  4. Layer and Swirl: Pour the red fudge into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Dollop spoonfuls of the black fudge on top, then use a toothpick or skewer to create swirls and patterns.
  5. Chill the Fudge: Place the pan in the refrigerator and let the fudge set for at least 3 hours, or until firm.
  6. Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve.

Expert Tips

Use Gel Food Coloring: Gel food coloring produces vibrant colors without altering the texture of the fudge.

Add Sparkle: Sprinkle edible glitter or black sanding sugar on top before the fudge sets for an extra spooky effect.

Adjust Flavors: For a stronger apple flavor, increase the apple extract to 1 tsp, but taste as you go to avoid overpowering the sweetness.

Keep it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Can I freeze fudge?

Storing & Reheating

Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
