Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and slice the zucchinis into thin rounds using a sharp knife or a mandoline.
  3. In a pan, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then sauté the zucchini slices for about 5–7 minutes until they’re tender. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, if using.
Layering
  1. In a greased baking dish, layer the sautéed zucchini evenly.
  2. Pour half of the cream or milk over the first layer and sprinkle half of the grated cheese on top.
  3. Add another layer of zucchini, the rest of the cream or milk, and top with the remaining cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top and drizzle with remaining olive oil.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh herbs and serving.

Notes

You can experiment with other cheeses like cheddar or goat cheese. Make sure to dry the zucchini slices with a paper towel before layering to prevent sogginess.
