  1. Start by melting the butter in a microwave-safe mug for about 20-30 seconds, ensuring it doesn't bubble over.
  2. Add both the sugar and brown sugar to the mug, along with the vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  3. Crack in the egg yolk and mix until everything is fully integrated.
  4. Gradually add the flour and a pinch of salt, folding them into the mixture carefully.
  5. If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips on top and give a quick stir.
  6. Microwave the mug cookie for about 40-60 seconds, checking for doneness. The center should still be soft but not liquid.
  7. Allow it to cool slightly before enjoying, optionally topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes
