Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 slices slices of bread (any type you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (dahi)
  • 1/2 whole cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 whole onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 handful fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 whole green chili, finely chopped (optional, for added heat) Optional ingredient for spice

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing your cucumber, onion, and tomato. It doesn’t have to be fancy—just as long as they fit comfortably on your sandwich.
  2. Chop your coriander leaves and prepare your green chili if you’re adding some kick!
Getting the Bread Ready
  1. Toast your slices of bread lightly if you prefer a crunchy texture, or use them fresh.
  2. Spread a generous layer of yogurt on one side of each slice of bread.
Layering the Vegetables
  1. Begin layering your sliced cucumber on one slice of bread, then add tomato slices, followed by onion.
  2. Sprinkle a handful of chopped coriander leaves on top.
Seasoning
  1. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
  2. If you’re feeling adventurous, add the finely chopped green chili for a spicy kick!
Combining the Slices
  1. Place the other slice of bread on top, yogurt side down. Press gently to ensure everything sticks together.
Serving
  1. Slice the sandwich in half—diagonal or straight, it’s all about your preference.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy every delicious bite!

Notes

For substitutions, swap in hummus instead of yogurt for a different flavor profile. Preparing vegetables ahead of time can save you some hustle during meal prep. Avoid overly toasting the bread to maintain moisture.
