Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy and light.

Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.
