Method
Preparation
- Begin by gathering all your ingredients and tools: a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, and a spatula.
Melting the Chocolate
- In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips over low heat. If using a microwave, heat the chips in a bowl at 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Dipping the Pretzels
- One by one, dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing them on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Adding Toppings
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy over the pretzel, ensuring that it sticks. If you’d like to get creative, add colorful sprinkles or other toppings at this stage!
Setting the Chocolate
- Allow the pretzels to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to let the chocolate set. If you’re in a hurry, you can also place them in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
Serving
- Once the chocolate is hardened, carefully place the pretzels in a serving dish or an airtight container. They are now ready to be enjoyed by everyone!
Notes
For substitutions, try using chopped white chocolate bars or halal-certified candy melts instead of chocolate chips. Timing is key: if you’re short on time, use the refrigerator to set the chocolate quickly, but be careful not to leave them in too long. To keep fresh, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or refrigerate for up to a month.
