Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure to use room temperature butter for best results.
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can be substituted with almond extract for a different flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until fluffy and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract while mixing until well incorporated.
  4. Sift the all-purpose flour and salt together, then gradually add to the butter mixture, blending until a soft dough forms.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form small balls of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should remain tender.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For cookies that are firmer, consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
