Preparation
- Start by cutting up your ripe watermelon into uniform cubes. Make sure to remove all seeds, as they can disrupt the smooth texture of your sorbet.
- Place the diced watermelon into a blender or food processor. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until completely smooth. You may need to scrape the sides to ensure all pieces are incorporated.
- Give your sorbet mixture a quick taste. If you want it sweeter, feel free to add another tablespoon of sugar.
- Pour the mixture into an airtight container and spread it evenly.
- Cover your container and place it in the freezer for about 4-6 hours or until it’s fully frozen.
- Once frozen, use a spoon or ice cream scoop to serve. Let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature before scooping to make it easier.
Notes
You can customize your sorbet with toppings like a blueberry sauce or fresh mint. To store, keep it in an airtight container in the freezer for 1-2 weeks.
