- In a bowl, combine the vegan sausage, olive oil, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Gradually add the vital wheat gluten or chickpea flour to the bowl with the spices and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 5 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a log shape, about 6 inches long, and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.
- Place the wrapped log in a steaming basket over boiling water, and steam for 30 minutes.
- Allow it to cool completely before unwrapping and slicing into your desired thickness.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Gently pan-fry slices in olive oil to reheat.
