Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Combine the granulated sugar and melted butter in a large mixing bowl. Stir until well-combined.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter and sugar mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
