Ingredients

Pasta Ingredients
  • 12 oz Pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
  • 1.5 cups Tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang (Korean chili paste) Adjust to taste
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste
  • 1 handful Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant (be careful not to burn it!).
Combining Ingredients
  1. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir in the gochujang. Mix well and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  2. Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing to combine. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Final Seasoning and Serving
  1. Season with salt and pepper, adjusting as needed. Plate your pasta and garnish with freshly chopped basil or parsley.

Ensure all ingredients are Halal certified to maintain compliance. For vegetarian options, swap regular pasta for veggie noodles or replace gochujang with sriracha.
