Preparation
  1. Start by washing the tomatoes thoroughly. Cut them into bite-sized pieces and place them in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the bowl with the tomatoes. Pour in the olive oil and red wine vinegar or lemon juice.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Toss everything gently to ensure the tomatoes are coated with the dressing but still maintain their shape.
  5. If desired, tear some fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them on top for an added layer of flavor.
