Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 whole ripe tomatoes (preferably heirloom or vine-ripened)
  • 1 ball burrata cheese (about 8 oz.)
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Use high-quality olive oil for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and cut them into wedges or slices, arranging them on a serving platter.
  2. Gently take the burrata cheese out of its packaging and place it in the center of the tomatoes, keeping it intact.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the tomatoes and burrata.
  4. Tear the fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the salad.
  5. Add salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
  6. Right before serving, poke the burrata with a fork to let the creamy center flow over the tomatoes.

Notes

For added richness, consider adding slices of avocado or nuts for crunch. Ensure tomatoes are at peak ripeness for maximum flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but this dish is best enjoyed fresh.
