Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and beat until incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Warm slices in the microwave for 15-20 seconds if desired.
