- Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
- Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired creaminess.
- Immediately add the freshly squeezed lime juice to the avocado to add flavor and prevent browning. Sprinkle in the salt and ground cumin.
- Gently fold in the finely diced onion, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro. Add the minced jalapeño if desired.
- Taste your guacamole and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or spices as needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or as a side to your main dish.
Notes
To minimize oxidation, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressing the wrap onto guacamole surface. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored 1-2 days in the fridge.
