Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe avocados Choose slightly soft but not mushy avocados.
  • 1 unit lime, juiced Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin Adds depth of flavor.
  • 0.5 unit onion, finely diced Can be yellow or red onion.
  • 2 units Roma tomatoes, diced Adds freshness.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped Can substitute with parsley if desired.
  • 1 unit jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional) Adds heat; omit if preferred.

Preparation
  1. Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired creaminess.
  3. Immediately add the freshly squeezed lime juice to the avocado to add flavor and prevent browning. Sprinkle in the salt and ground cumin.
  4. Gently fold in the finely diced onion, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro. Add the minced jalapeño if desired.
  5. Taste your guacamole and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or spices as needed.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or as a side to your main dish.

Notes

To minimize oxidation, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressing the wrap onto guacamole surface. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored 1-2 days in the fridge.
