Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add in the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter. Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes can enhance flavor and texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
