Preparation
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Let it marinate while you prepare everything else.
- In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, cook the marinated beef until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to break up the beef as it cooks.
- Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water for about 10 seconds, until they’re pliable. Lay them flat on a clean surface.
- Start by placing a few basil leaves, a layer of lettuce, shredded carrots, and cooked beef in the center of each wrapper.
- Fold the sides over the filling, then roll it up from the bottom, tucking it in tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
- Arrange the rolls on a serving platter and serve with hoisin or peanut dipping sauce.
Notes
Tip: Don’t soak the rice paper wrappers for too long. Consider adding sliced avocado or bell peppers as additional fillings. Experiment with sauces; a splash of sriracha or a drizzle of sweet chili sauce can elevate flavors. Practice makes perfect when rolling.
