  • 4 large yellow onions Peeled and sliced into thick rings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs For coating the onion rings
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For coating
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil For coating the onion rings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into thick rings.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each onion ring into olive oil, ensuring they’re well-coated, then dredge them in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the coated onion rings in a single layer on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try mixing different cheeses into the breadcrumb coating or prepping the onions ahead of time. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
