  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract For added flavor
  • 1 cup leftover candy (chopped into small pieces) Use a mix of candies for best flavor

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until fully incorporated.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the chopped leftover candy until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Press the mixture into the prepared baking pan evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are light golden brown.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper.
  2. Cut them into squares or rectangles and serve at room temperature.

Notes

For added enjoyment, serve with coffee, milk, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Ensure to choose candies that complement the buttery flavor.
