  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or a round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
