Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or a round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
