Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a cutting board.
- Place the chicken breasts on the cutting board and carefully make a pocket in each breast. Season each side with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Filling
- In a bowl, combine the shredded cheese, cooked chicken or turkey, cream cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
Stuffing and Coating
- Generously fill each chicken breast with the cheesy mixture and secure it with toothpicks if necessary.
- Dip each stuffed chicken breast into melted butter, then roll them in the breadcrumbs.
Baking
- Place the stuffed chicken breasts in a greased baking dish and pour chicken broth over them.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
Serving
- Once finished, let the dish rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add sautéed spinach or mushrooms to the filling. Ensure to check the internal temperature of the chicken for doneness.
