  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 2 cups string beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
Sauce Ingredients
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing the chicken into thin strips and trimming the string beans. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
Cooking
  1. In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Add the sliced chicken to the wok. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned. Season with a little salt and pepper.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the string beans to the wok. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are bright green but still crunchy.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the chicken and beans, tossing everything together to coat evenly. Allow cooking for another minute.
  6. Remove from heat, serve over cooked rice, and enjoy your delicious String Bean Chicken!

Notes

Feel free to swap out the chicken for shrimp or tofu for different dietary preferences. To store leftovers, place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
