Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and ¼ cup of granulated sugar. Let the mixture sit for about 15-20 minutes to bring out the natural juices of the strawberries.
- Once the strawberries are juicy, blend them until smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture if desired.
- In a separate large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and the vanilla bean seeds. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Gently fold the blended strawberries into the cream mixture until well combined.
- Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours to ensure it's cold before churning.
Churning
- Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. Typically, this will take about 20-25 minutes.
- Once churned, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for another 2-4 hours to firm it up.
Serving
- Scoop your delicious Strawberry Vanilla Bean Ice Cream into bowls or cones. Top with your favorite fruits, sauces, or crushed cookies, if desired!
Notes
