Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Use ripe and juicy strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) Optional for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing your fresh strawberries. Remove the green tops and slice them into halves or quarters, depending on their size.
  2. Place the sliced strawberries in your blender. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract (if using). Blend the mixture until it’s smooth and well-combined, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  3. For a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds. This step is optional.
Freezing
  1. Pour the blended strawberry mixture into a shallow dish and spread it out evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for about 2-4 hours, or until solid.
  2. Once frozen, take it out and let it sit for a few minutes to soften slightly. Then, break it up into chunks and return it to the blender. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  3. Return the sorbet to the shallow dish, and freeze again for another hour or so to firm up.
Serving
  1. Scoop into bowls or cones, decorate with toppings of your choice (like fresh mint, coconut flakes, or dark chocolate sauce), and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover sorbet in an airtight container for up to 2-3 weeks. Let it sit out for a few moments before scooping to make serving easier.
