Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Mix well until all pretzel pieces are coated.
- Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
Cream Cheese Layer
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 1 cup granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated. Spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, ensuring it’s even.
Strawberry Layer
- Dissolve the strawberry-flavored gelatin mix in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Allow it to cool slightly before adding the fresh strawberries (or thawed strawberries if using frozen). Mix well.
- Once the mixture reaches room temperature, pour it over the cream cheese layer. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best results.
Serve
- Once set, slice into squares and enjoy this delightful creation with your family or guests!
Notes
Ensure all layers are properly cooled before assembling. This dish stores beautifully in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freezing is not recommended, as it may alter the texture of the creamy layer. For best results, serve chilled.
