Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar until well-mixed.
- Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove it and let it cool completely.
Making the cream cheese layer
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the Cool Whip (or whipped cream) until well-combined.
- Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
Preparing the strawberry layer
- In a large bowl, mix the strawberry gelatin with the boiling water, stirring until it dissolves completely.
- Allow it to cool slightly before adding the strawberry puree.
- Pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
Finishing touches
- Arrange the fresh strawberry slices on top of the pie, gently pressing them into the gelatin layer.
- Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until the gelatin is fully set.
- Cut into slices and serve chilled for a refreshing dessert!
Notes
For crust substitutions, crushed graham crackers can be used for a sweeter base. Ensure to chill overnight for the best results. Store leftovers covered in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
