  • 1.5 cups crushed pretzels
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cups sugar
For the cream cheese layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cups powdered sugar
For the strawberry layer
  • 2 cups strawberry puree
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar until well-mixed.
  3. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove it and let it cool completely.
Making the cream cheese layer
  1. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in the Cool Whip (or whipped cream) until well-combined.
  3. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
Preparing the strawberry layer
  1. In a large bowl, mix the strawberry gelatin with the boiling water, stirring until it dissolves completely.
  2. Allow it to cool slightly before adding the strawberry puree.
  3. Pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
Finishing touches
  1. Arrange the fresh strawberry slices on top of the pie, gently pressing them into the gelatin layer.
  2. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until the gelatin is fully set.
  3. Cut into slices and serve chilled for a refreshing dessert!

Notes

For crust substitutions, crushed graham crackers can be used for a sweeter base. Ensure to chill overnight for the best results. Store leftovers covered in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
