Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs Use gluten-free pretzels for an alternative crust if needed.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
For the filling and topping
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Can substitute with plant-based cream cheese if needed.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 2 cups strawberry pie filling Fresh strawberries can be substituted; adjust sweetness accordingly.
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to toast the pretzel crumbs.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the pretzel crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish to form a crust.
  4. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is set. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
Layering
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping gently until combined.
  2. Once the crust has cooled, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the pretzel crust.
  3. Spoon the strawberry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
Chilling
  1. Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm. For best results, chill it overnight.
