  • 1 cup strawberries, diced Fresh, ripe strawberries work best.
  • 1 cup pineapple, diced Use fresh pineapple for optimal flavor.
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped Adjust based on flavor preference.
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional for spice) Add for extra heat.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped Can be substituted with fresh mint.
  • 1 Juice of 1 lime Fresh lime juice recommended for best flavor.
  • to taste pinch Salt Adjust based on personal preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries and pineapple thoroughly. Dice them into small pieces.
  2. Finely chop the red onion and mince the jalapeño if using.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, add the diced strawberries and pineapple. Gently fold in the chopped red onion and jalapeño.
  2. Toss in the chopped cilantro and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  3. Sprinkle salt over the mixture and stir gently.
Chilling
  1. Let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled or at room temperature with chips or over grilled meats.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Best enjoyed fresh. Avoid heating the salsa to maintain its fresh flavor.
