Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced Remove the tough core for maximum sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeds removed and minced (optional for spice lovers) Adjust spice level by keeping or discarding the seeds.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by hulling and dicing your strawberries and fresh pineapple into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Finely chop the red onion and jalapeño. Depending on your spice tolerance, choose to keep or discard the seeds from the jalapeño.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberries, pineapple, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  2. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
  3. Gently toss everything together using a spatula, ensuring the flavors meld together without smashing the fruit.
  4. Taste your salsa and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice as desired.
Serving
  1. For the best texture and flavor, serve this salsa fresh with tortilla chips, or as a topping for your favorite proteins!

Notes

Serve it soon after preparation to avoid it becoming too watery. If making ahead, add salt just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
