  • 4 slices slices of bread (white or whole grain) Thicker bread like brioche or challah can be used for a softer roll-up.
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella Add more Nutella if desired.
  • 4 pieces strawberries, sliced Ensure strawberries are evenly spaced.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • as needed Butter for frying Use enough butter to coat the pan.
  • as needed tablespoon Powdered sugar for serving Dust over the roll-ups before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by flattening the bread slices using a rolling pin.
  2. Evenly spread about a tablespoon of Nutella on each slice of bread.
  3. Place a few slices of strawberries on top of the Nutella.
  4. Gently roll the bread slices from one end to the other, creating a tight roll.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and sugar in a bowl.
  6. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter.
Cooking
  1. Dip each rolled-up slice into the egg mixture, coating well.
  2. Place the rolled slices in the heated pan and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove from the pan, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or pan. For freezing, wrap each roll-up tightly and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to a month.
