Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the cookie dough into two bowls. Mix matcha powder into one bowl, and fold pureed strawberries into the other.
Baking
  1. Scoop a dollop of each color of dough and place them next to each other on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Use a toothpick or skewer to swirl the two colors together, creating marbled effects.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Cookies can be served with milk or tea. You may add toppings such as sea salt or white chocolate drizzle for enhanced flavor.
