Ingredients

For the Donuts
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Cream Filling
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 cup heavy cream whipped
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shape the Donuts
  1. On a floured surface, lightly knead the dough and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Use a donut cutter (or two round cookie cutters) to cut out donut shapes.
Fry the Donuts
  1. In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Make the Strawberry Cream Filling
  1. While the donuts cool, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  2. Fold in the pureed strawberries and powdered sugar until well combined.
Fill the Donuts
  1. Use a piping bag (or a zip-top bag with the corner cut off) to pipe the strawberry cream into the center of each donut.
Serve and Enjoy
  1. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately for the best taste!

Notes

Dough consistency is key; ensure it isn’t too sticky. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for two days. Freeze for longer storage.
