Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Make sure to measure properly for best results.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
For the Filling
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped Fresh strawberries recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
For the Icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Use enough to reach desired icing consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and egg. Slowly add the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir until a dough forms.
  4. On a floured surface, knead the dough gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth. Don't over-knead; we want fluffy rolls, not tough ones!
  5. In another bowl, combine the chopped strawberries, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly on top.
  7. Carefully roll the dough into a log, then slice it into 1-inch thick pieces. Place them into a greased baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Icing
  1. While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach your desired icing consistency.
  2. Remove the rolls from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, and then drizzle the icing over the top. Enjoy warm!

Notes

For best results, use fresh strawberries. To store, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
