Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat the mixture for 2-3 minutes until smooth and well combined.
Baking
  1. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Topping Preparation
  1. While the cakes are cooling, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
Assembly
  1. Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of whipped cream on top. Add sliced strawberries over the whipped cream, then place the second cake layer on top.
  2. Spread the remaining whipped cream on top of the cake and arrange additional strawberries for decoration. Serve and enjoy!
