Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat the mixture for 2-3 minutes until smooth and well combined.
Baking
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Topping Preparation
- While the cakes are cooling, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
Assembly
- Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of whipped cream on top. Add sliced strawberries over the whipped cream, then place the second cake layer on top.
- Spread the remaining whipped cream on top of the cake and arrange additional strawberries for decoration. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Serve with fresh fruit salad or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A light drizzle of chocolate sauce can enhance the dessert.
