Preparation
- Start by cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), and water. Mix well until combined.
- In a ziplock bag or a bowl, add chicken and pour half of the honey garlic sauce over it. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
- In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken (without the sauce) and cook until golden brown.
- Take the remaining sauce and add cornstarch mixed with a little water to it. Stir well.
- Once the chicken is cooked, pour the sauce into the skillet and simmer until thickened.
- Serve hot, garnishing with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Pair with jasmine rice or quinoa, and serve with steamed broccoli or a colorful mixed salad. Adjust cornstarch for desired sauce thickness and add red pepper flakes for heat if desired.
