Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large head large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup for a vegan option
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or a Halal alternative
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil optional for extra flavor
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
Roasting
  1. Spread the cauliflower in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden and tender.
  2. While the cauliflower is roasting, prepare the honey garlic sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir and cook for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combining
  1. Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven and drizzle the honey garlic sauce over it. Toss gently to coat every piece.
  2. Return the coated cauliflower to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. Once done, sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Substitute honey with maple syrup for a vegan option. Keep an eye on the cauliflower during the final roast to avoid burning. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to ensure proper roasting.
