Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions and drain.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
Assembly and Baking
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom. Next, layer the noodles, followed by the sausage mixture, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of sauce topped with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil, and enjoy!
Notes
Pair with a simple side salad and garlic bread. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat by covering with foil in the oven or microwave.
