Ingredients
  

For the shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor.
For the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to your spice preference.
  • 1/2 cup beer (any light lager)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 each lime, zest and juice
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh cilantro, chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Make sure the shrimp are thoroughly cleaned, peeled, and deveined. Pat them dry and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high, add the shrimp to the skillet, and season with salt and pepper. Stir occasionally and cook for about 3–4 minutes, until the shrimp turns pink.
  3. Pour in the beer and soy sauce, then add the lime zest and juice. Let the mixture simmer for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped cilantro, and serve immediately with your favorite sides!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, warm in a skillet over medium heat or microwave in short bursts, being careful not to overcook. Freeze without garnish for up to 3 months.
