  • 3 cups Chex cereal (rice, corn, or wheat)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts Ensure they are nut and halal compliant
  • 1 cup pretzels
  • 1/2 cup popcorn (plain)
  • 1/4 cup butter Use a halal-friendly butter substitute if desired
Seasoning Mix
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Check for halal compliance
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, mixed nuts, pretzels, and popcorn, stirring until mixed well.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.
  4. Drizzle the butter mixture over the dry mix, tossing gently until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture onto a large baking sheet in an even layer.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking. Watch closely to avoid burning!
Cooling and Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Refrigerate for up to a month, though this may alter texture. Reheat on a baking sheet at 350°F for 5 minutes to regain crunch.
