  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
Additional Ingredients
  • 2 cups plums, pitted and chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  5. Stir in the sour cream gently.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped plums.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
