Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure your butter is soft for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat them generously in powdered sugar.
Baking
  1. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly firm but the centers are still soft.
  3. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for up to three months in a freezer-safe bag.
