Method
Preparation
- Start by slicing your ripe peaches in half and removing the pits.
Cooking
- In a large skillet or frying pan, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted, add in the 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is bubbly.
- Gently place the peach halves cut-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until they are beautifully caramelized and tender.
- After the peaches are done cooking, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to balance the sweetness.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a minute before serving.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds or in a skillet over low heat until warm.
