Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground pork or beef Can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger For the best flavor, use fresh ginger.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for better flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Helps maintain shape and texture.
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it nice and hot for baking your meatballs.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, chopped green onions, breadcrumbs, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything until well combined.
  3. Once the mixture is ready, use your hands to form small meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  4. Slide the meatballs into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Once they are done, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for an extra touch and serve hot!

Notes

These meatballs pair excellently with a light salad or jasmine rice. Consider adding steamed broccoli or snap peas for added crunch. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze individually before transferring to a freezer bag.
