Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 pieces ripe bananas (sliced) Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Divided into two portions.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional) Sprinkle on top before baking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, slice your ripe bananas and mix them with half of the granulated sugar. Set this aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar. Mix until well integrated.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. Create a well in the center of your dry mixture and add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined; small lumps are okay.
Baking
  1. In a greased baking dish, pour the batter first. Evenly distribute the banana mixture on top. Optionally, sprinkle cinnamon over it.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Once baked, let the cobbler cool for a few minutes, then serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, freeze wrapped properly. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
