Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound grapes (any variety) Choose fresh, ripe grapes, either red, green, or black.
  • 1/2 cup sour sugar (sugar mixed with citric acid or lemon/lime juice) Adjust the sourness according to taste.
  • Water For rinsing the grapes.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start with fresh, ripe grapes. Just ensure they are well-washed.
  2. Rinse the grapes in a colander under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean towel; this helps the sour sugar stick better.
  3. If you’re making your own sour sugar, mix together 1/2 cup of granulated sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of citric acid, or juice from fresh lemons or limes. Adjust to taste.
  4. Place the dry grapes in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the sour sugar over them, tossing gently to coat all the grapes evenly.
  5. For a refreshing taste, consider placing them in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes before serving.
  6. Present your Sour Sugar-Coated Grapes in a fun bowl or on a skewer for easy grabbing.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days, though they may lose some crispness. Optionally, use Greek yogurt as a dip for a creamy contrast.
