  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup chopped onion, sautéed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, melted butter, sautéed onions, sour cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well until evenly mixed.
  3. Spread the hash browns mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Remove from oven, let it sit for a few minutes, and then garnish with fresh green onions.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy.
