Preparation
- Start by slicing the soft dinner rolls in half. If they are particularly large, you can cut them into quarters for bite-sized pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Dip each piece of roll into the custard mixture, making sure to fully coat them. Allow them to soak for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavor.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Place the soaked rolls, cut side down, onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from the skillet and serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar. Add fresh fruit if desired.
Notes
You can use croissants or brioche instead of dinner rolls for an extra buttery taste. Make sure your skillet is preheated before adding the rolls. Avoid soaking the rolls for too long, as they can become too mushy.
