Ingredients

For the Crostini
  • 1 Baguette or Ciabatta Baguette or Ciabatta, sliced into ½ inch thick pieces
  • 8 oz Smoked Salmon, sliced thin
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, at room temperature for easy spreading
  • 2 tbsp Capers, drained and rinsed
  • 1 each Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bunch Fresh Dill, for garnishing
  • 1 each Lemon Wedges, for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette or ciabatta slices on a baking sheet. Brush each piece lightly with olive oil (optional) and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Once the bread is toasted and cooled slightly, generously spread room-temperature cream cheese on each piece.
  4. Layer the smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese, allowing it to drape elegantly.
  5. Scatter a few capers on each crostini and crown them with sliced red onion for an extra punch of flavor.
  6. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh dill, and add a squeeze of lemon over the top just before eating.
  7. Serve immediately while the bread is crispy.
